No respect for her

"I’ve been a support worker for many years but I was still upset to hear the story of one of my clients, a young woman with an intellectual disability. She had a part-time job stocking shelves at a big supermarket, where she made some ‘friends’. It turned out that these friends would organise to go out to the pub with her and then they’d ‘borrow’ her ATM card to buy drinks, play the pokies, buy food and stuff for themselves as well as her. She struggled to keep track of her own money so they got away with it for months. It’s not just theft. They did it because they had no respect for her."
